MKCG Medical College Honors World Plastic Surgery Day with Awareness Rally and Seminar

Berhampur, July 14, 2025: The Plastic Surgery Department of MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur commemorated World Plastic Surgery Day on Tuesday with a series of events aimed at raising public awareness about the importance of plastic surgery in healthcare. Under the leadership of Professor Pruthiraj Singh, Head of the Department, the day began with an awareness rally that traversed the medical campus, educating the public about the critical role of plastic surgery in medical treatment.
The rally was followed by a discussion session held in the department’s conference hall, where Professor Singh highlighted the significance of World Plastic Surgery Day. The event concluded with a ceremonial cake-cutting. Attendees included Assistant Professor Tanmay Kumar Mahapatra, Dr. Jasmin Kumar Panigrahi, Dr. Shivarama Krishna, Dr. Jyoti Ranjan Pradhan, Dr. Lipsa Swain, Dr. Prem Prakash, and Dr. Jyotishi, along with numerous medical students, nurses, and other staff members.
The Plastic Surgery Department at MKCG is renowned for performing complex procedures, including reconstructive surgeries for cleft lip and palate, breast cancer, oral cancer, trauma-related injuries, and facial hair restoration. The public was encouraged to take advantage of these advanced medical services to address such critical health issues.
