Three accused arrested in a case of smuggling ganja.

SUBARNAPUR — On Friday, the Tarbha police of Subarnapur district seized more than 9 quintals of ganja and seized a Bolero pickup vehicle used in it. Along with this, the police have been able to arrest three Accused involved in the smuggling of ganja. The incident revealed that friday morning, a Bolero pickup vehicle was stopped at the Ranisarda intersection of Burda-Arjunpur road under Tarbha police station in Subarnapur district. Later, upon checking, it was found that a huge quantity of ganja was present in the Bolero pickup (No. OD =03 AB 9281). The seized ganja was weighed in the presence of Tarbha Additional Tehsildar Diptimayee Bhue, who was in charge of the Magistrate, and it was found to be 9 quintals or 35 kg 140 grams. The ganja was kept in 930 packets. A case was registered under Tarbha Police Station Case No. 178/18/7/2025 U/s-20( b)(ii)(c)/25/29 NDPS Act – 1985. SI Rabindra Sahu was in charge of the investigation of the incident. In this smuggling of ganja, Ramakant Naik (25), S/O – Sadhu, Sujit Naik (23) S/O – Achint and Jayadratha Dalabehera (27) S/O – Dilip of Jhartarbha village under Tarbha police station of Subarnapur district were arrested and were tried in court today (19/7/25).
