Riyadh: Prince Al-Waleed bin Khaled bin Talal Al Saud known as Saudi Arabia’s “Sleeping prince” has died at the age of 36 after spending nearly two decades in a coma. His death was announced by the royal family over the weekend.According to the reports, in 2005, at the age of 15, Prince Al-Waleed suffered a traumatic brain injury in a car accident in London.He was subsequently transferred to King Abdulaziz Medical city in Riyadh, where he remained in a vegetative state.Despite receiving extensive treatment, including consultations with medical specialists from the United States and Spain, he never regained full consciousness.The funeral prayers for the late prince are reportedly scheduled to be held on Sunday after the Asr prayer at the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh.Prince Al-Waled, born in April 1990, was the eldest son of Prince Khaled, a prominent figure within Saudi royal family.
