SUBARNAPUR, 4/8 — A tragic accident occurred in Subarnapur district Jhinki. A winger was going to Puri from Sagarpali under Sonepur block for Jagannath darshan. Jagannath darshan remained incomplete. 20 people including the driver had happily set out late at night. But near Government Polytechnic College on the outskirts of Sonepur (near Jhinki Panthai Durga) they stopped the vehicle to worship the goddess. At this time, a speeding haiwa hit the pilgrim vehicle from behind. (whose number is OD -31 K 8914) then the winger lost control and hit the temple fence. As a result, 16 people were injured, 4 of whom were seriously injured. Police and fire brigade personnel reached the spot and rescued all the passengers with the help of gas cutters and admitted them to Subarnapur District Head quarters Hospital.
