Jindal Steel Celebrates 79th Independence Day with Patriotic Fervour across Plant and Mining Units

Joda/Barbil/Tensa:(Correspondent):- Jindal Steel celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit at its Barbil Pellet Plant and iron ore mining operations in Kasia, Tensa, and Roida.
The celebrations began with the ceremonial hoisting of the National Flag at each unit. Shri Pramod Kumar Patra, Cluster Head of the Barbil, Kasia and Tensa units, led the festivities by hoisting the National Flag at Kasia Mines. Shri Purushotham M D, Unit Head of the Barbil Pellet Plant, hoisted the tricolour at the Barbil Plant, while Shri R. R. Raghuwanshi, Unit Head, presided over the flag-hoisting ceremony at Tensa Iron Mines. Shri Patra also hoisted the National Flag at Jindal Stee’s newly acquired Roida Mines, and at Jindal School, Soyabali, Barbil.
In a warm message on the social media platform X, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Kurukshetra) and Jindal Steel Chairman Shri Naveen Jindal paid tribute to India’s freedom fighters, stating: “Heartfelt wishes to all of you on the 79th Independence Day. The tricolour is our pride, honour, and dignity. Why limit it to just a few special days? Come, let us make the tricolour a part of our lives, not just today, but from today onwards. A tricolour in every home, every day. Jai Hind!”
As part of its community outreach, the Jindal Foundation, Jindal Steel’s social arm, organised various programs in nearby schools and villages. Activities included sweet distribution and engaging competitions such as essay writing, debates, and drawing – all centred around patriotic themes. These events saw enthusiastic participation from students and local community members alike.
In a proud moment, Jindal Foundation Barbil was awarded First Prize for Blood Donation among Corporate Houses at the district-level Independence Day celebrations in Keonjhar, with the honour presented by the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo.
The Independence Day celebrations across Jindal Steel’s units witnessed the active participation of senior leadership, employees, business partners, and their families. In addition to the flag-hoisting ceremonies, vibrant cultural programmes were held in the townships of Barbil, Tensa, and Kasia. Employees and their families showcased their talents and patriotic spirit, reinforcing their deep emotional connection with the nation.
