Bhubaneswar, 05 Sep 2025 – In a landmark move to empower women entrepreneurs and strengthen the “Vocal for Local” movement, ODI SOCIAL is set to launch its first-of-its-kind retail outlet in Odisha. This unique initiative will bring together women-led enterprises under one umbrella, offering them a collective platform to showcase and sell their products.The flagship store was inaugurated by Ms. Arti Ahuja, Retired IAS officer, a visionary leader known for her contribution to women’s empowerment and social causes. Several prominent women leaders from Odisha graced the occasion and encouraged the start-ups to work on their vision and dreams.
ODI SOCIAL is built on the philosophy of inclusivity, providing space for women entrepreneurs across diverse segments— art, handicrafts, textiles, jewellery, home décor, organic products, apparels, health & wellness items, beauty products, food, corporate gifting, beauty services and more. Many of these entrepreneurs are start-ups producing innovative and high-quality goods but often face challenges in promotions, visibility, and market linkages. ODI SOCIAL addresses this gap by offering them access to a structured retail ecosystem. Over 20+ women entrepreneurs are part of the initial launch, and this number is expected to increase over the year with grass root women entrepreneurs and rural women entrepreneurs also getting an opportunity to exhibit their products. The initiative is a result of Ms. Sukirti Patnaaik’s vision & collaborative efforts of Ms. Sonika Pradhan.
Speaking about the launch, the founders of ODI SOCIAL said: “ODI SOCIAL is not just a retail outlet, it is a movement. It is about creating pride in Odisha’s talent, tradition, and creativity. By giving women entrepreneurs a common platform, we aim to make their businesses sustainable and recognized at both local and global levels. ODI SOCIAL is One-stop retail hub for women entrepreneurs of Odisha. Its Inclusive model welcoming entrepreneurs from varied sectors.Its aim to Focus on “Vocal for Local”, boosting Odisha-made products,Support for start-ups, addressing challenges in promotions and market access and Aims to connect local talent with larger markets, both national and international.
The outlet will not only function as a retail space but also as a community hub for women entrepreneurs to network, collaborate, and grow together.The inauguration event spread across 3 days from 05-Sep-2025 to 07-Sep-2025 promises to be a celebration of Odisha’s entrepreneurial spirit, featuring the diverse range of products created by talented women entrepreneurs who are redefining the landscape of local businesses in Odisha.
