The Angul District Police today organized a unique District-Level Training Programme onCyber Crime and Financial Fraud Analysis at the District Police Office, Angul. This is thefirst initiative of its kind by any district police in the State, aimed at strengthening thecapacity of police officers to tackle the rapidly growing menace of cybercrime and digitalfinancial frauds.The programme was inaugurated by Shri Satyabrata Bhoi, IPS, Inspector General ofPolice, NCR, Talcher, in the presence of Shri Rahul Jain, IPS, Superintendent of Police,Angul, and Shri Abhinav Sonkar, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Dhenkanal.A total of 06 Deputy Superintendents of Police, 19 Inspectors, 25 Sub-Inspectors, and 13technically skilled constables participated in the day-long training.What made this training truly remarkable was the participation of eminent experts fromIDFC First Bank, Mr. Ravi Prakash Shukla, National Manager, Risk Containment Unit, Mr.Pradipta Das Majumder, Regional Manager, RCU, IDFC First Bank, Kolkata, Mr. ShakirParwez, Regional Manager, RCU, IDFC First Bank, Kolkata, Mr. Prabhakar Das, AreaManager, RCU, IDFC First Bank, Bhubaneswar, and Mr. Biswajit Sarangi, TerritoryManager, RCU, IDFC First Bank, Bhubaneswar, along with Mr. Biswajit Pattnaik, ManagerIDFC First Bank, Angul to impart knowledge on cyber threats and financial fraudprevention.The sessions which covered critical topics such as Banking Frauds, Phishing Attacks, UPIFrauds, Mule Accounts, RTGS/NEFT Transactions were highly interactive, focusing onreal-life case studies and practical techniques for effective investigation and timelyintervention. Officers were sensitised on the importance of quick action in freezingfraudulent transactions, assisting victims, and spreading cyber hygiene awareness amongcitizens.Speaking on the occasion, IGP Shri Satyabrata Bhoi lauded the initiative of Angul Policeand highlighted the growing need for field-level officers to be well-equipped in handlingdigital financial crimes. SP Angul Shri Rahul Jain emphasized that the knowledge gainedfrom this programme would empower officers to act swiftly and efficiently, therebyincreasing public confidence in policing.The Angul Police reiterated its commitment to strengthening cybercrime investigation andensuring the safety of citizens in the digital era.
