New Delhi, 3/1 (AO Bureau) : The Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) has approved the emergency use of two Corona vaccines in India. DCGI has given final approval for the emergency use of Serum Institute’s Vaccine Covishield and Bharat Biotech’s Vaccine Covaxin. Questions have been raised by the Congress (Congress) leader Shashi Tharoor on behalf of DCGI to approve Bharat Biotech Vaccine Cocaine, in response to which the Drug Controller General of India has given an explanation.
Congress leader Shashi Tharoor said in a tweet, ‘Bharat Biotech’s COVAXIN has not been tested yet for phase III trial. Premature approval of COVAXIn can be dangerous. Dr. Harsh Vardhan give clarification in this regard. The use of the corona vaccine should be avoided until the trial is complete. India should use the AstraZeneca vaccine during this time.
The Covaxin has not yet had Phase 3 trials. Approval was premature and could be dangerous. @drharshvardhan should please clarify. Its use should be avoided till full trials are over. India can start with the AstraZeneca vaccine in the meantime. https://t.co/H7Gis9UTQb
