Kaniha :NTPC Talcher Kaniha organized a successful tree plantation program on 17th September 2025,
under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0” campaign, during which a total of 6,000 trees were
planted. The event was led by Shri K. N. Reddy, Executive Director of NTPC Talcher Kaniha.
On this occasion, Smt. K. Srivani, President of Tanvi Sangam; Shri Ch. Satya Rama Krishna,
CGM (O&M); and Shri Malaya Ranjan Kalo, Divisional Manager, OFDC Angul, were present,
along with all GMs, HODs, representatives from welfare bodies, Tanvi Sangam, unions and
associations, and employees of NTPC Kaniha, all actively contributing to environmental
conservation efforts.
In his address, Shri K. N. Reddy, Head of Project, emphasized that the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam
2.0” initiative not only expresses respect towards mothers but also serves as a sensitive and
environmentally conscious campaign dedicated to Mother Earth. The campaign aims to fulfill
our responsibilities towards nature by promoting tree plantation and enhancing greenery. He
highlighted the importance of the initiative and encouraged everyone to plant trees. He stressed
the need to stay connected with nature and maintain ecological balance.
Shri Malaya Ranjan Kalo, Divisional Manager, OFDC Angul, also spoke at the event,
highlighting that from birth to death, human beings are entirely dependent on nature for survival.
He said that this campaign serves as a reminder of our continuous responsibility to care for and
protect the environment, as every tree planted helps sustain life and combat climate change.
To date, NTPC Kaniha has successfully planted a total of 15.52 lakh tree saplings as part of its
initiative to oxygenate nature. Among these, 26,000 trees have been planted through the
Miyawaki method.
