Misappropriated school money by gambling on betting app. Ex principal of Odisha Adarsh Vidyalaya in Binika, Subarnapur district, Soumyaranjan Kheti was arrested by Vigilance on Monday. He was the Principal of Binika Adarsh Vidyalaya (OAV) from 2021-22 to 2024-25. According to Sambalpur Vigilance Case No. 19/2025, while Mr. Kheti was the principal of Binika Adarsh Vidyalaya, it was alleged that Rs. 55, 02,610 were misappropriated from the government’s mid-day meal, Mo School Abhiyan and girls’ hostel grants. A special team of Vigilance investigated the matter. Earlier, when Mr. Kheti was suspended by the Education Department, he used to appear before the District Education Officer Subarnapur. He was arrested on Monday in a case of misappropriation of government funds, according to information received from the Vigilance. In this regard, the Vigilance has registered a case under U/s- 13(2) r/w 13(l) (a) PC (Amendment) Act 2018 /316/61(2) BNS. Further investigation is underway. Report – Ugrasen Karmi.
