Jajpur, Odisha – November 19, 2025 – Jindal Stainless Limited (JSL) has set a significant milestone in workplace safety by conducting a comprehensive mines visit and inspection at Kaliapani Chromite Mines on Monday, November 17, 2025. The event, organized as part of the 43rd Annual Mine Safety Week, highlighted the company’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety, environmental responsibility and operational excellence in the mining sector. The visit and inspection programme were conducted by an inspection team comprising esteemed experts from leading mining organisations, including Mr. Chandrakant Rath (Convenor , Koira Iron Mine, GVPR), Mr. B.K Singh (Co-Convenor, Bolani Iron Mine, SAIL), Mr. Alok Kumar Chowdhury (Member-2, Mechanical) and Mr. Suresh Dash (Member-3, Electrical, MG Mohanty). The day’s programme was meticulously planned to cover key aspects of mining operations and safety protocols, including safety flag hoisting ceremony, detailed inspection of opencast areas, dumps and COB plants, verification of statutory documents, first aid and firefighting mock drills, safety inspection and a concluding meeting and prize distribution to recognize excellent safety efforts. The visit highlighted proactive steps taken by JSL to ensure a safe working environment for its employees, align with national safety guidelines and promote best practices in chromite mining. The participants appreciated the company’s infrastructure and preparedness, emphasizing the role of such initiatives in preventing accidents and promoting a culture of caution. “This inspection reinforces our commitment to zero-harm operations and sustainable mining, and such events during Mine Safety Week are important for continuous improvement and knowledge sharing,” said Shri Ramiya Ranjan Ray, Head, Mines, JSL.
