NTPC Talcher Kaniha Inaugurates Key Community Infrastructure – Community Pond, Road and Rest Room Under CSR

 Kaniha :NTPC Talcher Kaniha continues to strengthen rural infrastructure and improve the quality of life in surrounding communities through impactful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. In this direction, NTPC Kaniha inaugurated and handed over three major community infrastructure projects for public use on 22 January 2026.

The projects inaugurated include:

1.          Construction of Earthen Embanked Pond at Balangi Village

2.          Construction of Rest Room at Derang Village Community Building

3.          Construction of Concrete Road at Derang Majhi Sahi (Length: 650 meters)

A total of ₹133.00 Lakh has been utilized for the execution of these projects.

These initiatives have been executed under the CSR programme of NTPC Talcher Kaniha with the objectives of enhancing basic infrastructure, improving connectivity, strengthening community facilities, and supporting sustainable rural development.

The above community infrastructure were inaugurated by Shri Rudra Narayan Pani, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Dhenkanal; Shri Ashok Mohanty, Hon’ble MLA, Pallahara in presence of Shri K Narasimha Reddy, Executive Director, NTPC (Talcher Kaniha). Shri Navneet Kumar, Head of HR, NTPC Kaniha; along with other senior officials of NTPC, village Sarpanches, local representatives, and large number of villagers were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries appreciated NTPC Kaniha’s sustained efforts towards community development and highlighted the importance of infrastructure development in improving living standards in rural areas. They emphasized that such initiatives play a crucial role in fostering inclusive growth and strengthening community resilience.

The newly constructed earthen embanked pond at Balangi Village will support water conservation, fish cultivation and irrigation needs, contributing to agricultural sustainability. The rest room facility at the Derang Village Community Building will enhance community infrastructure and provide improved amenities for villagers. The concrete road at Derang Majhi Sahi will significantly improve connectivity, facilitating smoother transportation and access for residents.

NTPC Talcher Kaniha reaffirmed its commitment to undertaking need-based and sustainable CSR interventions in the areas of education, healthcare, sanitation, livelihood, women empowerment, and rural infrastructure. Through such initiatives, NTPC Kaniha continues to contribute towards the socio-economic development of project-affected and nearby villages.
