Amazon cuts 16,000 jobs globally in broader restructuring

Bengaluru, 28/1: Ecommerce giant Amazon on Wednesday announced that it will cut 16,000 roles globally. This is the second round of layoffs the company announced following its 14,000 job reduction in October last year.

Amazon has been working to strengthen its organisation by reducing layers, “increasing ownership, and removing bureaucracy.” This reduction will impact employees in India, and the exact numbers will be known only in the coming days.
