A domestic help working at the official residence of Odisha minister Krushna Chandra Patra was found dead under suspicious circumstances on Thursday.The deceased, identified as Shankarshan Nag (46) from Belpahad in Balangir district, had been serving at the minister’s residence for several months. He lived with the family and carried out routine household duties. On Thursday morning, he reportedly entered one of the rooms to perform his work.Around 9 am, other staff members noticed Shankarshan lying unconscious on the floor. They rushed him to Capital Hospital immediately. However, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.Following the incident, Capital Police reached the residence, recovered the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. They registered an unnatural death case and launched an investigation to determine the circumstances. Moreover, police officials questioned family members and staff present at the time. They also recorded statements from several employees as part of the probe.Preliminary findings suggest electrocution as a possible cause. Nevertheless, police clarified that the exact reason will be confirmed only after the post-mortem report. The suspicion of electrocution has raised questions about safety measures inside the residence.
