‘This cannot be the father of all deals’: Congress slams Modi over India–US pact

New Delhi, 3/2: Congress on Monday night targeted the union government over the Indo-US trade deal announcement by President Donald Trump, claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has “capitulated finally” and insisting this “cannot be the father of all deals.

Soon after Trump announced that the US is lowering tariffs from 25% to 18% and India reducing tariffs and non-tariff barriers to zero as part of the deal, Congress General Secretary (Communications) Jairam Ramesh said the US President “clearly seems to have some leverage.
