Bhubaneswar: The Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) has directed all District Education Officers (DEOs) to ensure the distribution of free school uniforms to students enrolled in Shishu Vatika (pre-primary) classes in government and government-aided schools across the state for the academic year 2025-26.According to the official directive issued by OSEPA Additional Director (General) Sangita Behera, an amount of Rs 1,000 per student has already been released to all districts to facilitate the procurement and distribution of uniforms. The uniforms will conform to the standards prescribed for Class I students, ensuring uniformity across schools.The distribution process will follow existing financial and procedural norms applicable for Classes I to VIII. Uniforms will be provided through selected Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Micro & Small Enterprises (MSEs), or School Management Committees (SMCs), all approved by the District Level Committee chaired by the Collector.“No fresh tender/Expression of Interest (EoI) is required for the said purpose during the current academic year,” the directive clarified.OSEPA has asked DEOs to complete the uniform distribution on schedule and to report progress regularly to ensure smooth implementation of the scheme across all districts.
