Three people lost their lives, and another sustained critical injuries in a tragic road accident involving three motorcycles in Odisha’ssonepur district on Tuesday. The accident occurred near Hilung Chowk on the Biramaharajpur–Murshundi road. According to preliminary reports, the three motorcycles collided head-on near Murshundi Chowk, resulting in a devastating crash.Eyewitnesses said that one of the motorcycles was allegedly being driven at a very high speed, which is suspected to have caused the fatal collision. Agasti Bhoi of Badamal village died on the spot due to the impact. Bhagaban Sethi of Hilung village suffered critical injuries and was being shifted to roulker for advanced medical treatment when he succumbed to his injuries en route. Another victim, Chandan Bhoi of Bankia village, died while undergoing treatment at the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) in burla . Meanwhile, Shiva Jagadala of Bankia village remains in critical condition and is currently receiving treatment at VIMSAR.Police reached the scene shortly after being alerted and initiated an investigation into the incident. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination. Authorities are probing the exact cause of the accident, though overspeeding is suspected to have been a major contributing factor.
