Sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik to represent India at Contemporary Venice 2026 in Italy

Bhubaneswar: Renowned sand artist and Padma Shri awardee Sudarsan Pattnaik will represent India at the 18th edition of Contemporary Venice in Italy, scheduled from March 6 to 20.The exhibition, held at the historic Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello, will feature five of Pattnaik’s exclusive ‘Jugalbandi’ paintings, a unique fusion of colour and sand on canvas.Pattnaik’s artworks, focusing on nature, harmony, and environmental responsibility, symbolize his fusion of painting and sand art.It is learnt that this prestigious international show brings together artists from over 30 countries, including Turkey, Austria, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Colombia, Romania, the United States, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Sweden, Poland, France, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Iran, Italy, Finland, Greece, China, Israel, the Netherlands, Sri Lanka, and the Czech Republic, among others.The exhibition is organized by ITSLIQUID Group in collaboration with ACIT Venice – Italian-German Cultural Association.Pattnaik’s participation marks a significant moment for Indian art on the global stage, showcasing his innovative style and artistic journey.
