Opposition MLAs Demand Health Minister’s Resignation; House Adjourned Till 11:30 AM

Bhubaneswar: The second phase of the Odisha Legislative Assembly session descended into chaos as opposition parties disrupted proceedings, demanding the resignation of Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling.As per reports Congress and BJD MLAs created pandemonium, forcing Speaker Surama Padhy to adjourn the House until 11:30 am. The opposition’s ire stems from the deadly fire at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, which claimed 13 lives. The protesters contended that suspending four officials was inadequate and demanded Mahaling’s resignation on moral grounds.Yesterday, the protesting MLAs had held a mock funeral to symbolically mark the “death of the state’s health system.
