Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has formed District Planning Committees (DPCs) for all 30 districts, appointing ministers and MLAs as chairpersons to boost district-level development.Key leaders have been assigned to oversee planning and implementation of development programmes. The appointees include Ashok Mohanty (Angul), Laxman Bag (Bolangir), Padmalochan Panda (Balasore), Ashwini Kumar Sarangi (Bargarh), Sitanshu Sekhar Mohapatra (Bhadrak), and Kanhai Charan Dang (Boudh).Other appointees include Chhabi Mallick (Cuttack), Suresh Pujari (Deogarh), Simarani Nayak (Dhenkanal), and Prithviraj Harichandan (Gajapati), Purna Chandra Sethy (Ganjam), Amarendra Das (Jagatsinghpur), and leaders for Keonjhar, Khurda, Koraput, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangapur, Nayagarh, Nuapada, Puri, Rayagada, Sambalpur, Subarnapur, and Sundargarh.The move aims to decentralise planning and improve coordination between rural and urban local bodies for district-level development plans.
