Puri: In yet another incident at the Puri sea, two tourists were rescued by alert lifeguards on Thursday after facing difficulties while bathing in the sea.The first incident occurred in Sector 9 of the sea beach when 45-year-old Narayan Sahu from Berhampur Bada Bazaar suffered an epileptic seizure while bathing. The sudden neurological episode left him unconscious in the water. Bystanders immediately alerted the lifeguards, who promptly entered the sea and rescued him safely.Narayan was later rushed to the Puri District Headquarters Hospital for medical treatment. In a separate incident near Chaitanya Chack in the same Sector 9, 41-year-old Sonu Tibari from Jharkhand was swept away by strong waves while bathing.The lifeguards acted swiftly and rescued him from the rough sea. These back-to-back incidents have once again highlighted the unpredictable nature of the sea at Puri beach. Authorities have urged tourists to remain extremely cautious while entering the water and to strictly follow safety guidelines and instructions issued by lifeguards.Visitors have been advised not to venture too deep, especially in areas with strong undercurrents. Puri Police and the lifeguard team have appealed to tourists to prioritise safety and avoid taking unnecessary risks while enjoying the beach.
