Jharsuguda, Odisha; 4thApril 2026:Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, continues to prioritize community healthcare across early childhood, adolescence, maternal health, and senior care. In line with this focus, the company organized an awareness and deworming drive at Puruna Basti High School in collaboration with the District Health Department. The initiative reached over 350 students aged 10-16, promoting health, hygiene, and nutrition among children.The students were educated on the importance of deworming and how it helps prevent parasitic infections that can lead to anaemia and affect cognitive development.
The programme was conducted in the presence of Dr. Durjaya Dutta, Additional District Public Health Officer, Family Welfare, Jharsuguda, alongside Mr. Aswini Mahanand, Deputy Manager, Reproductive and Child Health, Jharsuguda.
Sharing his thoughts, C. Chandru, CEO, Vedanta Jharsuguda, said,“ For us, the well-being of our communities, especially children, is a priority. Through initiatives like these, we aim to improve access to healthcare for young minds and contribute to building a healthier, more resilient future. This initiative forms part of Vedanta Aluminium’sbroader healthcare outreach, which has positively impacted over 4 lakh people across the Jharsuguda district. Through interventions such as Mobile Health Units, specialized medical camps, health programmes, the company continues to strengthen grassroots healthcare delivery and drive inclusive growth in Odisha.
