11 killed, two injured after van collides with cement mixer on bridge in Maharashtra

Maharashtra: In a devastating incident, as many as 11 people were killed after a van collided with a cement mixer on a bridge in Thane district today. According to police reports, the road accident took place at around 10:45 am on the Raita Bridge in Govili village of Murbad.Reports revealed that the van travelling from Kalyan towards Murbad, rammed into a cement mixer coming from the opposite direction, resulting in the death of eleven occupants of the van and inuring two other persons. Out of the eleven deceased, eight if them are men, and other three are women.Officials said the van was carrying multiple passengers at the time of the crash. The injured people were rushed to a hospital in Ulhasnagar in a critical condition.On being informed, the police reached the spot and launched an rescue operation with help of local residents. An investigation is underway.
