Undertrial Prisoner Escapes from Bhawanipatna Jail

An undertrial prisoner escaped from Bhawanipatna Jail in Kalahandi district late Tuesday night, sparking concern among authorities.The fugitive has been identified as Jagannath Sabar of Themara village under the Sadar police station. Police arrested him two months ago in connection with three theft cases and later produced him in court. Since his bail plea was rejected, he remained lodged in jail as an undertrial prisoner.Reports said Jagannath managed to flee by scaling the boundary wall of the prison. Jail officials discovered his absence during routine checks and immediately informed the police.Law enforcement agencies launched a search operation across Bhawanipatna and nearby areas to trace the escapee.
