Angul: PNG Gas Pipeline Leaks during Underground Work, Locals Panic

Angul: A PNG gas pipeline operated by BPCL developed a major leak in Angul district of Odisha on Tuesday after it was damaged during underground work, triggering panic among local residents.As per reports, the incident occurred on Amalapada Canal Road while TPCODL workers were carrying out underground work. The pipeline ruptured, leading to large-scale leak of Piped Natural Gas (PNG).After the leak was found, Fire services, Town Police, and BPCL officials rushed to the spot and launched efforts to control the leak and handle the situation.A technical team from BPCL also reached the site and began repair work. Authorities said there was no immediate danger, but as a precautionary measure, PNG supply through the affected pipeline has been stopped. Officials said the pipeline will be repaired soon and supply will be restored to normal. The leak had created fear among residents in the area.
