The Kalahandi district administration removed Santanu Kumar Meher, Headmaster of Government (SSD) High School, Madanpur, after allegations of misconduct involving obscene gestures toward a female employee.July 8, relieving Meher of his duties with immediate effect. He must report to the District Welfare Officer (DWO), Kalahandi, for further instructions.The administration appointed Mukesh Naik, Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) in Science at the same school, as the acting Headmaster until new orders are issued.Officials described the decision as an administrative exigency, emphasising the need to maintain discipline and accountability within educational institutions.The action followed complaints from staff members alleging inappropriate behaviour by Meher. The Collector’s swift response reflects the administration’s commitment to addressing misconduct and ensuring a safe environment for teachers and students.
