Allegations of ragging have surfaced at PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Sunamunda, in Debagada district, where senior students reportedly assaulted juniors inside the hostel.According to reports, on the night of July 14, two senior students allegedly called juniors from Classes IX and X and subjected them to ragging. The victims were beaten with cricket bats, belts, and slippers, leaving six students injured. One student sustained an eye injury, while others bore marks of assault across their bodies.Initially, the victims remained silent out of fear. However, when a teacher noticed the injury, the matter came to light and parents were informed. Outraged guardians questioned how such an incident could occur unnoticed within the hostel premises.Following a written complaint, Debagada police registered a case under various sections of the BNS against nine students. Debagada IIC Sabyasachi Satapathy confirmed that the investigation has begun.Meanwhile, school principal Uttam Prasad stated that the nine accused students have been sent home.
