Chatrapur : Adani Foundation, in collaboration with HelpAge India, has launched a Mobile Health Care Unit (MHCU) at the Gopalpur Port site to provide accessible healthcare services to the community in and around the port’s peripheral villages.
The vehicle was formally flagged off by Smt. Dibya Mohanty Tehsildar Chhatrapur Block and Shri Prashant Kumar Patra, Business Head, Gopalpur Port. Among others Smt. Bharati Chakra, State Head, Helpage India and community representatives from nearby Gram Panchayats and senior officials of the port attended the program.
The newly introduced MHCU by Adani Foundation is equipped with a medicine specialist, a pharmacist and a social protection officer to ensure comprehensive primary health care coverage. The total cost of the vehicle is Rs 26 lakh, while the annual operational expenditure for the current financial year will be around Rs 39 lakh.
This initiative aims to provide doorstep healthcare services to people of all age groups, particularly focusing on senior citizens and bedridden patients who are unable to travel to medical facilities. The medical team will also conduct home visits for such patients to ensure their regular check-ups and treatment.
The Mobile Health Care Unit will primarily serve 27 villages under Aryapalli, Kanamana, Kalipalli and Sriramchandrapur Gram Panchayats, visiting them on a regular schedule to offer medical check-ups, distribute free medicines, and conduct health awareness programmes. Special focus will be given to elderly and bedridden patients, who will receive home-based consultations and referral support for further treatment.
