SUBARNAPUR , 1/5— Subarnapur district Birmaharajpur Assistant Fisheries Officer Bibhuti Bhushan Padhan was caught by the vigilance while taking a bribe of Rs 30,000 today. Maa Metakani SHG of Radhapur village of Badakhamar panchayat under Birmaharajpur block was caught taking a bribe of Rs 30,000 to sanction a concessional amount for fish farming of a self-help group. Earlier, the first installment of money had been sanctioned to this self-help group, but the assistant fisheries officer demanded a bribe of Rs 45,000 for sanctioning the second installment. As a result, the woman, a worker of the self-help group, was caught by the vigilance department. As per the previous plan, today, while taking a bribe of Rs 30,000 from the self-help group, the vigilance department caught Assistant Fisheries Officer Bibhuti Bhushan Padhan and an associate Babula Barik. In this regard, Vigilance P.S. Case No.10 dated 30.04.2025 under Sections 7/12PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and both of them have been taken to the District Vigilance Department office in Sonepur for investigation.
