Bargarh: On July 30, Pradeep Purohit, MP Bargarh, called for the final approval and formal declaration of a new national highway in Odisha. In recent discussions with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, he stressed the significance of the proposed highway connecting Balangir, Patnagarh, Harishankar, Paikamal, and Nuapada.
Purohit underscored the urgency of this project, highlighting its potential to drive development in western Odisha. He remarked that the proposal has been a long-standing priority for the local populace and is vital for achieving balanced regional development and enhancing connectivity among various state regions, including the eastern, western, northern, southern, and coastal areas.
The new highway is expected to boost tourism by linking Odisha’s key cultural and tourist sites. Moreover, improving the road network in the western and southern regions is deemed essential for addressing local challenges. Enhanced connectivity is also anticipated to aid in better law and order management, thereby contributing to the overall socio-economic progress of the area, as articulated by MP Pradeep Purohit.
