BJP MP Nishikant Dubey Apologises For Controversial Remarks On Biju Patnaik

Bhubaneswar: BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has apologised for his recent comments on Odisha’s former Chief Minister and iconic leader Biju Patnaik.In a social media post, Dubey stated that his remarks were misinterpreted and expressed regret if they hurt anyone’s sentiments Dubey had made the comments last week regarding Nehru-Gandhi family, which was perceived to be targeting Biju Patnaik. He clarified that his statement was a personal observation and not intended to hurt anyone.Besides, the BJP MP clarified that his comments on the Nehru-Gandhi family were misinterpreted as targeting Biju Patnaik. He emphasized Biju Patnaik’s stature as a statesman and apologized if his statement hurt anyone’s sentiments.Taking to his X handle, he wrote: “Last week, while speaking to the media, an incorrect interpretation was drawn from my remarks regarding the Nehru-Gandhi family’s exploits, specifically in reference to the honorable Shri Biju Patnaik ji, a former Chief Minister and one of India’s leading leaders. First of all, this statement is my personal view. My thoughts on Nehru ji were misconstrued as being about Biju Babu.   Biju Babu has always been and will remain a towering statesman for us. If my statement has hurt anyone’s sentiments, I unconditionally apologize.”Earlier, Dubey had alleged that Jawaharlal Nehru fought the 1962 war with US support and CIA coordination, claiming Biju Patnaik acted as a liaison between the US government, CIA, and Nehru.
