SUBARNAPUR, 22/2 — The incident of a newlywed who snatched her lover from halfway at gunpoint in a film style has become a topic of discussion in the Tarbha area today. According to information received from police sources, Haribandhu, son of Gajanan Putel of Kamakshanagar near new Bus Stand in Balangir town, married Rashmi, daughter of Sarjan Putel of Rathpada in the back site of Kantamal tehsil of Boudh district, as per Vedic rituals on Saturday, 21/2. The bride’s family sent her off. The groom was accompanied by the daughter’s mother and the groom’s great-grandmother, but the bride could not reach her mother-in-law’s house. It is reported that the gunman snatched the newlywed from halfway at gunpoint near Tarbha Badbandh in Subarnapur district in the early hours of Sunday morning.
