Chhattisgarh: In a shocking incident, a woman and her partner have been arrested in Chhattisgarh’s Balod district for the planned murder of her father-in-law. The duo allegedly killed the older man using electric shock while he was asleep.According to the reports, the two planned to commit the murder using a metal rod wrapped with electric wire. It was connected to a power source.The woman wore electrician gloves to avoid getting electrocuted herself, while her partner carried out the act.The victim, reportedly asleep and intoxicated at the time was electrocuted on different parts of the body.Following the incident, the woman applied turmeric and rose water to the burn marks and other visible injuries in an effort to make them appear natural. She told family members and villagers that the death was due to a fall from a bicycle.However, while preparing for the last rites, villagers noticed unusual injuries and informed the police. A forensic examination and post mortem report confirmed electrocution as the cause of death.Investigations further revealed ongoing domestic conflict between the woman and the deceased.Additionally, both accused have been placed in judicial custody, and the case remains under investigation.
