SUBARNAPUR, 26/9 — Subarnapur District Assistant Registrar Cooperative Society Office has become a hotbed of corruption. Starting from the head of the office to the lowest level employees, they are involved in corruption at various times. But now the government has changed. The Cooperative Department has adopted a zero tolerance policy against corruption. Panu Charan Sahu, Assistant Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Sonepur Mandal (ARCS), was suspended from duty on Thursday on charges of financial irregularities and corruption. It is known that Mr. Sahu has a long list of corruption cases in various districts even before. Despite having a long list of corruption cases, Mr. Sahu was a powerhouse ARCS in a peaceful district like Subarnapur and continued to commit corruption while harassing farmers. Finally, the state government suspended him. During the suspension, he has fixed his headquarters at the Bargarh Sub-Registrar Cooperative Societies office. He cannot leave the headquarters without permission until the suspension order remains in force. It is understood that the Cooperative Department has instructed the field officers to stay away from irregularities and perform their duties in a principled manner. Some PACS secretary have published anonymously the content of Panu Charan Sahu himself harassing and extorting money by showing red eyes and applying mental pressure to the informant PACS secretary.
