Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Dr Mohan Yadav, has begun a new scheme for farmers. According to the scheme, those farmers who rear 10 cows, will get Kisan Credit card and other facilities. The objective of this scheme is to encourage cattle rearing and to provide financial assistance to the farmers. Credit cards will be provided under this scheme without guarantee which will make it easier to arrange fodder for the cows and use it for other necessary agricultural expenses. The Chief Minister announced this scheme in the State level Govardhan Puja ceremony. One of the residents named Kamta Prasad Sukla raised concerns about the challenges of cattle rearing. He questioned how farmers could manage the calves that would be born if they reared multiple cows. While they might be able to maintain the cows, handling an increased number of calves could become problematic. Shukla cited, with the growth of the number of cows, the need for space and resources will also grow. He wondered if the government could provide adequate facilities, specifically as farmers would then need to pay workers to care for the expanding herd.
