District level consultation meeting held on mental health.

SUBARNAPUR -Friday, a district level consultation meeting was held at the District Training Unit, Subarnapur by RARE Sonepur and with the support of Basic Needs India Bangalore. The chief guests were District Chief Medical Officer Dr. Pradeep Kumar Hota, District Additional Public Health Officer Dr. Daitanarayan Padhi, Sub-Divisional Social Security Officer Anjulata Mishra, District Mental Health Program Officer Dr. Tribikram Pandia, Anup Ranjan Dash, Tikaram Patel, State Coordinator of Basic Needs India Rajib Karmi, Block Program Manager of Tarbha Community Health Center Ashok Kumar Mishra attended the event as the guests of honor. Group facilitators and guardians of mentally ill persons from 16 panchayats of Tarbha block attended the event. The program was inaugurated by Project Coordinator Dhanurdhar Naik with a warm welcome while RARE General Secretary Ananga Negi spoke about the purpose of the program. Field worker Mitrabhanu Mallik made a presentation on the problems faced by the mental health program in Tarbha block. The meeting discussed how mental health services can reach the people properly.
