Foggy Tuesday: Dense Fog Hits Normal Life In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A thick blanket of fog enveloped the city early Tuesday morning, disrupting normal life and reducing visibility to a crawl.Major roads, residential areas, and highways were shrouded in a dense mist, making it tough for commuters to navigate.Traffic was slow on the National Highway and other key routes, with vehicles moving at a snail’s pace. That apart, pedestrians struggled to make their way through the fog, and motorists were extra cautious to avoid accidents.Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for dense fog in several districts of Odisha, with the alert set to remain in force till February 18, 2026.Apart from Bhubaneswar, dense fog has been witnessed at isolated pockets in Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Puri, Khordha, Dhenkanal and Cuttack districts today.According to the IMD’s mid-day weather bulletin, dense fog is very likely at isolated places in Kendrapara, Khordha, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Ganjam and Gajapati districts under the yellow warning for February 18.
