Bhubaneswar, 10/10: Hindalco Industries Limited, a flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group, has once again demonstrated its commitment to sustainability as its Hirakud Power & Smelter and Aditya Aluminium at Lapanga, have been conferred with the prestigious ESG Awards for operational excellence in the field of sustainability.
The awards were jointly presented by International Bauxite, Alumina & Aluminium Society (IBAAS) and CETIZION Verifica in recognition of the remarkable achievements of both units. Aditya Aluminium bagged the GOLD Award, while Hirakud Power & Smelter received the SILVER Award for their exemplary performance in sustainability initiatives.
The awards were presented to company officials at a special ceremony held in Bhubaneswar. Representing Hindalco the Unit Head of Aditya Aluminium, Mr. Jagannath Prasad Nayak, Mr Pratap Sahu, Vice President, Mr Soubhagya Tripath, Asst Vice President, and Mr. Ranjan Jena, GM; Environment from Hindalco have received the honours from Mr. Mark Annandale, Director Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) on behalf of the company. Among others Ms. Catherine Johnson, Independent consultant; Dr. Ashok Nandi, Ashok Nandi; President, The International Bauxite, Alumina & Aluminium Society (IBAAS); Mr. Pradip Ranjan Choudhury, Former Executive Director, National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO); Mr. Gangaa C Sharma, Managing Director & CEO, CETIZION Verifica Private Limited were present.

Both Aditya Alumina and Hirakud Power & Smelter have taken a leading role in implementing long-term environmental management practices, promoting energy conservation and efficiency, and executing socially responsible initiatives at the grassroots level, reflecting the company’s commitment as a responsible corporate citizen.
