Ahmedabad, 5/10: New Zealand won the toss and opted to bowl against on Thursday, as the ICC World Cup kicks off in the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad.
England and New Zealand had also squared off in the last ODI World Cup in 2019, hosted in England. The hosts had emerged the winners, making this a promising start to the highly anticipated tournament.
