New Delhi, 6/12: Seeking to protect passengers from “any form of opportunistic pricing” following the large-scale cancellation of IndiGo flights, the government on Saturday capped airfares at Rs 7,500 for air travel up to 500 km and Rs 18,000 for those above 15,000 km .
The fares are capped at Rs 12,000 for a 500-1,000 km air travel and Rs 15,000 for those flying 1,000-1,500 km. The cap, which will be applicable for travel until the situation fully stabilises, is not available for Business class tickets.
