Today i.e on 10.10.2025, a short while ago, Sri Braja Gopal Ghose Mohapatra, Dealing Asst. Sanitation-cum-MIS Co-ordinator and Sri Ratikanta Patra, Sanitation expert, both of Jaleswar Municipality, Dist- Balasore have been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking bribe of Rs.10,000/- from a Contractor (complainant) for clearing his pending bill for the works executed by him under IEC activity in Jaleswar Municipality. After completion of works, complt had been requesting Sri Ghose Mohapatra, Dealing Asst. to clear the pending bill for one and half months. But, Sri Ghose Mohapatra and Sri Patra, Sanitation expert were demanding bribe Rs.10,000/- to clear the pending bill and unless they were paid the demanded bribe, file would not be processed for release of the amount in favour of complt. Finding no other way, complt reported the matter to Vigilance authorities. Following this, a team of Odisha Vigilance nabbed both the accused persons namely Sri Ghose Mohapatra and Sri Patra, today while taking bribe Rs 10,000/- from the complt. The entire bribe money Rs.10,000/- has been recovered from them and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations linked to Sri Ghose Mohapatra , Dealing Assistant from DA angle.
In this connection, Balasaore Vigilance PS case No.15/2025 , U/s 7 PC(Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against the accused duo Sri Ghose Mohapatra and Sri Patra.
