JSW Steel, Odisha celebrates International Yoga Day with enthusiasm and unity

Barbil: JSW Steel’s Odisha Mining Division marked the 11th
International Yoga Day on Saturday, June 21st, with vibrant celebrations
across its mine sites and offices in Keonjhar and Sundargarh districts.
The theme for this year, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” emphasized
the vital link between individual well-being and global sustainability.
Mass yoga sessions were organized at Narayanposhi, Ganua, and
Nuagaon mines, drawing enthusiastic participation from more than 500
employees and stakeholders. Participants practiced a variety of yoga
asanas, celebrating the ancient discipline as a tool for inner peace and
collective resilience.
The event was graced by Shri Arun Kumar, Regional Controller of Mines,
Indian Bureau of Mines, Bhubaneswar at JSW Narayanposhi Mines. He
led a mass participation with over 150 attendees, showcasing various
yoga postures and breathing exercises. In his address, Shri Arun
highlighted yoga as a path to healing in a world facing stress, climate
change, and disconnection.
Key leaders from the Odisha Mining Division were present, including Shri
Ram Shankar Sharma (Mines Operations and Projects Head), Shri
Chittaranjan Bahinipati (HR Head), Shri Ankur Dokania (Finance Head),
Shri Vijay Kumar (Environment, Health & Safety Head), Shri Sanjeev
Choudhury (Security Head), and Shri Tapan Rath (Mines Manager,
Narayanposhi).
Shri Bahinipati emphasized yoga’s role in combating stress and burnout,
calling it a vital practice for both physical health and mental clarity. Shri
Sharma echoed this sentiment, calling yoga India’s timeless gift to the
world—a path to harmony, discipline, and inner peace.
