Bhubaneswar, 25th September 2025:
As part of the nationwide campaign “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath”, a Public Awareness Rally and Shramdaan was organised today at Khurda Road Railway Station. Divisional Railway Manager, Shri Alok Tripathi led the campaign with enthusiastic participation from Additional Divisional Railway Managers Shri P. K. Behra and Shri Subhrajyoti Mandal, Branch Officers, Railway staff and their family members. The rally highlighted the importance of cleanliness, sanitation, and discouraging the use of single-use plastic in railway premises. During the programme, DRM Shri Tripathi distributed eco-friendly jute bags to passengers to promote environmental sustainability and spread awareness against plastic usage.
The awareness rally began from the new entrance of Platform No. 1, proceeded through the old entrance, and culminated in front of the Rail Coach Canteen. A massive Shramdaan drive was undertaken at the Rail Coach Canteen area, including its surrounding spaces and cycle stand. In addition, Khurda Road Division also launched a door-to-door awareness campaign in Railway colonies to sensitize residents on waste management, sanitation, and the elimination of single-use plastic. The initiative witnessed collective participation and reinforced the commitment of East Coast Railway towards the vision of a clean and green environment.
