KIIT-DU Signs MoU with Indian Air Force to Support Education of Air Warriors and Their Wards

Bhubaneswar, Aug 29: KIIT-DU today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Air Force (IAF) to facilitate higher education opportunities for serving and retired personnel of the IAF, as well as their wards in both engineering and medical programmes. 

The agreement was formalized between Air Vice Marshal Harjit S Sidana, VSM, Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Education), representing the IAF, and Prof. Saranjit Singh, Vice Chancellor, KIIT-DU.

The MoU provides significant educational benefits, including concession in tuition fees for wards of serving and retired IAF personnel. In addition fee exemption and support will be extended to the wards of personnel who lost their lives while in service. Admissions will be subject to eligibility criteria such as NEET for medical and dental programs and KIITEE for other courses.

The ward must fulfil NEET criteria for admission into Medical and Dental science programme. For admission into all other programmes, the officers/ wards must fulfil KIIT Entrance Examination (KIITEE) criteria.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Saranjit Singh, Vice Chancellor of KIIT-DU, said, “The prime objective of this MoU is to ensure quality education and financial support for the wards of Indian Air Force personnel. This collaboration also paves the way for joint initiatives between KIIT faculty and the education wing of the Indian Air Force in R&D projects and development of short-term educational programmes.”

On the side-lines of the signing ceremony, IAF officials also paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT and KISS, and lauded his vision for inclusive education and nation-building process.
