JAGATSINGHPUR Jul 25. An alleged minor girl sexual exploitation incident has been reported in Kujanga police limits, based on an FIR lodged by the victim girl’s father. Police have arrested two persons and forwarded them to court on Friday.
Meanwhile, the victim girl is undergoing medical examination at the district headquarters hospital here. After completion of the medical checkup, she will be present before the Child Welfare Committee [CWC] Jagatinghpur for the next course of action, police informed.
The alleged accused persons were siblings from Kathakot village under Kujanga block, identified as Bhagyadhar Dash and Panchanan Dash, the former a priest and the latter a cook working in a local Matha. Police have arrested a duo from their village based on an FIR lodged against them. A case has been registered in Kujanga police station bearing number 275 of 2025, and further investigation is on, police informed.
According to the FIR lodged by the victim girl’s father at the police station revealed that both alleged accused persons had been maintaining a regular sexual relationship with the minor. As a consequence, she became pregnant after five months. Then both men had approached him for termination of the pregnancy, when he declined the proposal, they offered a life threat to both me and my child, looking safety and security of our live, we complained, FIR stated.
On the other hand, sources informed that the victim’s mother is dead as a result she was living with her father without siblings, taking advantage of her loneliness being sexually exploited by both accused siblings.
Meanwhile, police have taken efforts to provide medical aid and a safe home for the victim girl and are awaiting CWC instruction for the next lawful action, police said
