Sambalpur:(Correspondent) :- In a landmark judgement, Hon’ble High Court of Odisha in writ appeal No.34 of 2015 (Gadadhar Biswal & Others vs. MCL) passed an order for taking possession of acquired land by MCL and advised MCL to provide transit accommodation to 25 persons within one month and to expedite balance work of resettlement site. Further, Hon’ble court directed the villagers to handover the acquired land to MCL within one month.
Owing to long-pending issue of Talashi under the village “Hensamul” the expansion of Bhubaneswari Open-Cast project had been affected since 2015. 102 villagers of Hensamul, Talasahi took shelter of law in 2014 demanding additional benefits even though all eligible land losers were earlier provided with full compensation, employment & resettlement plots by MCL, as per R&R provisions of Govt. of Odisha.
With this decision of Hon’ble High Court, Bhubaneswari mine of MCL can enhance it’s coal production to cater the energy needs of the nation.
