Bhawanipatna, Vedanta Aluminium has reaffirmed its commitment to providing quality healthcare services in the neglected regions of Kalahandi district. During the monsoon season, when people often suffer from seasonal illnesses, India’s leading aluminium producer Vedanta Aluminium has launched a special initiative named “Project Arogya”.
As part of this initiative, a mega health camp was recently organized by the company at Gopalpurtha village under Gobardhanpur Panchayat in Lanjigarh block. In this camp, over 350 people from 15+ villages of Gobardhanpur Gram Panchayat and surrounding areas received free medical check-ups, consultations, and medicines from experienced doctors and specialists.
Among the notable participating medical professionals were senior pediatrician Dr. Bikash Ranjan Praharaj, medicine specialist Dr. Prabhin Kumar Pati, and Dr. Prabhudatta Swain, who provided valuable medical assistance and consultations to the attendees.
The health camp was efficiently coordinated by officials and staff of Vedanta Limited’s CSR Department, Public Relations Department, and Vedanta Hospital. President of Lanjigarh Press Club, Mr. Sushil Kumar Bag, also extended his support in organizing the event.
On this occasion, Vedanta Alumina Business CEO Mr. Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya stated, “In Lanjigarh, we at Vedanta are firmly committed to the upliftment of the local community through sustainable healthcare services. This mega health camp is part of our ongoing efforts to ensure timely medical support reaches even the remotest villages.”
He further added, “Through Project Arogya, we are continuing our mission of delivering essential healthcare services to the underserved population. The initiative has already brought significant changes in the healthcare landscape of the Lanjigarh block.”
In the financial year 2024–25 alone, mobile health units under Project Arogya have delivered treatment and consultation services in over 660 villages, benefiting more than 20,500 people and spreading awareness about various health-related issues.
Additionally, over 15,000 individuals have received crucial information on hygiene, wellness, and disease prevention.
