Three months ago, Amulya Jena of Kochaniamba village kept Rs 70 lakh at home after selling land. On February 22, six miscreants entered his house at night, threatened him with sharp weapons, and looted cash and gold ornaments.Amulya immediately lodged a complaint at the Umerkote police station. Acting swiftly, police launched a detailed investigation, using scientific teams and sniffer dogs from Nabarangpur. Multiple raids across different locations led to the arrest of all the accused.Police seized Rs 22 lakh in cash, gold ornaments, one car, one scooter, and mobile phones from the accused. The arrested individuals hail from Jeypore in Koraput district and Papadahandi in Nabarangpur district.Umerkote Sub-Divisional Police Officer Subhendu Sabar confirmed the arrests and recovery in a press briefing. All the accused have been forwarded to court.
