NTPC Talcher Thermal organised a Press Meet today, bringing together senior project leadership and members of the local media to share updates on project progress, sustainability initiatives, and community development efforts.
The press interaction was attended by Shri Vijay Chand, Executive Director & Head of Project, along with Praveer Kumar, GM (Project), Rohit Kumar, AGM (HR), Suresh Chandra Behera, AGM (Electrical Erection), and Prakash Chandra Nainwal, AGM (Planning and Systems).
Around 60 journalists representing reputed Odia, Hindi, and English print and electronic media houses from the region participated in the interaction, reflecting strong media interest in the project’s development and its broader impact.
During the session, detailed presentations were made by TTPS, outlining the current status and future roadmap of NTPC Talcher Thermal. The presentation highlighted key milestones of the Talcher Thermal Power Project Stage III (2×660 MW), Stage III unit #1 of the project is targeted for completion and operation by March 2027. Progress across major construction fronts, adoption of advanced environmental safeguards, and the project’s role in strengthening Odisha’s power infrastructure were also shared.
NTPC Talcher Thermal has spent 30.24 Cr in Education, Health, Infrastructure, Women Empowerment, Skill Development & Training for and upliftment of vulnerable sections in peripheral villages.
Shri Vijay Chand also addressed queries from the media with patience and clarity, providing detailed responses on project timelines, environmental measures, and community engagement.
Through this press meet, NTPC Talcher Thermal reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, responsible project execution, and meaningful engagement with stakeholders, while continuing to power progress and community development in the region.
