Nuapada Police Crack Theft Case in 24 Hours: 4 Held, Rs 55 Lakh Valuables Recovered

Khariar police achieved a major breakthrough by solving a theft case within 24 hours. Officials arrested four accused and recovered stolen property worth over Rs 55 lakh, including cash, gold, and silver items.At a press briefing, Khariar SDPO confirmed that police teams formed under the leadership of the district SP investigated the case registered on February 16. The theft occurred at the residence of Praveen Agrawal in Ward No. 11, Putupada, while the family was away for Shivratri celebrations.Investigators traced leads to a youth from Anchalpura village who had previously worked at the house. During questioning, he admitted involvement, leading police to identify and arrest four suspects: Bhuleswar Thela, Chudamani Kand, Ganesh Thela, and Hemant Kata.Police recovered Rs 37.40 lakh in cash, silver ornaments worth Rs 10 lakh, gold jewellery valued at Rs 7 lakh, four mobile phones, and two motorcycles. Officers also retrieved a stolen iron treasury box that had been dumped in the Udanti riverbed.The arrested individuals were produced in court today. SDPO Upendra Pradhan, Khariar IIC Sumanta Naik, Boden IIC, and Sinapali IIC attended the press meet, confirming that the investigation successfully recovered 100% of the stolen property.
